HeyWire is an application that allows you to send free text messages to any cell phone within its supported areas (previously worldwide). The Local Number Support feature allowed you to just input a cellphone, and HeyWire would automatically place your country's code. (+52 for Mexico for instance).
This would save you time entering each number manually, or modifying all your contacts from your actual phone contacts. However, due to its recent upgrade, that feature was no longer available, and you must input the country code, and phone number manually in each message.
Some people who had it upgraded on their phones, just had the application deleted, went to iTunes and synced. However, those of us who had downloaded the application, and backed up while running the upgrade, we wouldn't be able to restore to a previous version. Until now...
First thing you'll need of course, is a Jailbroken iPhone running Installous. Follow the steps below to downgrade.
1. You then need to download the .ipa file from here.
2. Drag the file into the folder private/var/mobile/Documents/Installous/Downloads/ (You may either use SSH, or get iPhone Explorer from here to view the folders).
3. Open Installous, go to Downloads, and Install the .ipa for HeyWire 2.0.283.
4. Once installed, open iTunes and delete the HeyWire version you have in your library (PC).
5. Sync your iPhone, the system will ask you if you would like to transfer recent purchases, click Transfer.
6. Once transferred, delete the HeyWire installed on your iPhone
7. Then, sync your iPhone back, but make sure HeyWire is selected from the applications'-to-sync-list.
8. HeyWire 2.0.283 will be sent back to the phone, and should be running fine again.
